Created specifically for permanent collection of the National Museum of History of Ukraine in the Second World War.
For the first time this sculpture was represented at the exhibition 'War: Inverse Perspective'. 'Soap Figure with Flowers' from the permanent collection of the National Art Museum of Odesa was also shown during this exhibition.
The exhibition attempts to cover the history of the Second World War and the russian-Ukrainian War through artistic reflections.
The project showcases works by 41 contemporary artists from various regions of Ukraine, including Kyiv, Odesa, Dnipro, Lutsk, and Ivano-Frankivsk, as well as 40 artists whose works are part of the Museum's collections. More than 150 exhibits cover an area of almost 2,000 square meters inside the pedestal of the Motherland Monument.
Originally, the very first Soap Figures ('Homo Bulla') were shot by pro-Russian terrorists on June 9, 2014 in Donetsk during occupation forces.
5 years later, in 2019, the new soap sculptures were shot by Maria Kulikovska during a performance, which the artist carried out especially for the Ukrainian-Swiss dramatic film «The Forgotten» and her own video-performance 'Let Me Say: It's Not Forgotten' as her personal refflection on the war.
